How Velours Media Brought Maamgic’s Swimwear Campaign to Life. A Gold Coast Summer Story

Two days. Two models. A hundred+ summer styles. One unforgettable campaign.
When Maamgic, the cult-favorite men’s swimwear brand, approached us for their next campaign, they weren’t just after beautiful images. They were chasing a feeling, that magnetic pull of summer. The freedom. The warmth. The attitude.
At Velours Media, we don’t just shoot products, we craft brand worlds. And for this project, that meant building a cinematic, high-conversion lifestyle campaign from the ground up, right on the sun-drenched shores of the Gold Coast, Australia.
From beachfront sunrises to rooftop infinity pools, urban roads to coastal adventures, we designed, produced, and delivered what’s already become one of the most striking men’s swimwear campaigns of the year.

This wasn’t a simple photoshoot. It was a full-scale fashion campaign production, carefully led and executed by Stéphane Spatafora, Creative Director and Founder of Velours Media.

🏝 Eve Residences, a luxury rooftop pool location with white minimalist architecture
🏨 Bel Air Broadbeach a modern resort with Mediterranean-inspired architecture and prime location elevated the smart-casual narrative of the Maamgic campaign.
These partnerships allowed us to elevate every scene while staying lean — offering premium backdrops, cinematic environments, and complete creative freedom without blowing the budget.
🌊 Day One — Beach Sunrises & Poolside Luxury
Our first day opened with a sunrise shoot on the beach. With golden light pouring over the shoreline, our models moved through scenes filled with surfboards, linen shirts, beach umbrellas, floaties, and swim rings. The aesthetic was vibrant, youthful, and effortless, pure Maamgic.
Later in the afternoon, we transitioned to the infinity pool at Eve Residences, where the mood shifted to relaxed luxury. Framed by crisp white walls and turquoise water, we captured everything from lounging lifestyle shots to dynamic action moments — water guns, volleyballs, group scenes, and close-ups. The light danced on the water, elevating every shot.
This day alone brought more than 90 styled pieces to life, each one captured with intention, energy, and editorial edge.
🛹 Day Two — Urban Cool Meets Coastal Escape
For day two, we shifted the energy toward urban lifestyle storytelling. At Bel Air Broadbeach, we captured laid-back, street-ready summer looks using skateboards, bicycles, and casual packs as props. The models flowed through early morning light, giving us walking shots, ride-bys, and street-side textures that anchored the Maamgic identity in everyday adventure.
In the afternoon, we hit the coastal roads, chasing the light along scenic curves and sea-facing walkways. These scenes brought a cinematic edge, wind-blown shirts, movement-filled walk cycles, coastal color palettes, and golden-hour silhouettes.
Each location was chosen not just for beauty, but for narrative function, every frame had a purpose. A story.

Behind the Lens: The Gear That Made It Happen
Producing the Maamgic Swimwear Campaign required more than just creative direction, it relied on reliable, professional gear to keep up with fast-moving moments, changing light, and two full days of non-stop shooting.
For this project, I worked with two Sony A7 IV bodies, giving me the flexibility to switch seamlessly between setups without missing a beat. My go-to lenses were the Sony 70-200mm GM f/2.8, perfect for crisp lifestyle shots and compressed backgrounds, and the Sigma Art 85mm f/1.4, which delivered stunning portraits with creamy bokeh and razor-sharp detail.
